Police reveal indentity of suspects in Collins murder

24-year-old Shannon Bogguess

By Jessica Oakley

WICHITA, Kansas, May 13, 2008 – Wichita police have released the names of the two men arrested in the murder of Wichita businessman Jim Collins.

The first is 24-year-old Shannon Bogguess, a former employee of Collins’. The second is 18-year-old Kedrin Littlejohn.

At this time, neither has been formally charged by the D.A., but both of the men remain in custody.

Bogguess has a long criminal history including robbery and drug convictions. Bogguess was on probation after being released from prison last year. A warrant had been issued for his arrest last week, but hadn’t been carried out before Collins was killed.

According to police, Collins was abducted shortly before 8 a.m. Monday at his business, Marquis Motors, on E. Douglas. Police allege Bogguess and Littlejohn shot Collins and ran him over in the 500 block of S. St. Francis in a stolen Hummer, which was captured on surveillance video at a nearby business.

Police say this is a very complex investigation and the earliest charges could be filed is Thursday when the two men are scheduled to make their first appearance in court.
