Beef recall expands to all Dillons ground beef

By Jessica Oakley

WICHITA, Kansas, July 3, 2008 – The Kroger company, parent of Kansas-based Dillons, is recalling ground beef products due to reported E. coli illnesses.  The effected meat has a sell-by date of May 17th through July 3rd.  Officials say the meat was supplied by Nebraska Beef, and has been linked to 41 illnesses between May 31 and June 8. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has not reported any additional illnesses related to this outbreak.

The company is asking any customer with ground beef purchased at Dillons stores to return it for a full refund or replacement.
