WICHITA, Kansas, July 12, 2008-Gregory Gilman and his wife Patrica were riding on their motorcycle early Saturday morning, when the driver of a car side-swiped the motorcycle, and forced the couple into a guard rail.

According to witnesses, the driver of the car attempted to exit onto northbound I-135 and then changed his mind. He then merged back onto K-254, and that's when he made contact with the motorcycle.

Patrica Gilman, who was on the back of the bike, later died at the hospital. Her husband Gregory was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Neither was wearing a helmet.

The driver of the car fled the scene. Witnesses describe the vehicle as a dark colored Dodge Intrepid.
