PRATT COUNTY, Kansas, July 23, 2008 – Authorities are on the hunt for a man accused of raping a child, and we're learning that at the time of the alleged crime he was already under the state’s supervision.
The Pratt County Sheriff’s Department has issued a press release to area media asking the public to be on the lookout for 37-year-old Jimmy Daniels. It says Daniels should be considered armed and dangerous. He is now accused of raping a 12-year-old girl on July 17th.
The sheriff says the two knew each other, but can’t elaborate on the relationship. But a search of Daniels’ criminal history shows he’s currently under the state’s supervision.
State records show at the time of the alleged rape, Daniels was under court-ordered supervision for a drug conviction. He’s listed under intense supervision level three. The highest level is a one; the lowest a four. But still, at a level three, Daniels would have been required to meet with an officer several times per month.
And that’s not the end of Daniels’ criminal trouble. The Pratt County Sheriff’s Department also says he’s wanted in Sumner County, Tennessee for a probation violation. He may be on his way to that state now as he has family members there.
