Robinson denied change of venue

By Jessica Oakley

WICHITA, Kansas, July 23, 2008 – The capital murder trial of the man accused of arranging the murder of his pregnant girlfriend will stay in Sedgwick County.

Attorneys for Elgin Robinson were denied their motion for change of venue Wednesday. They believe Robinson, the boyfriend of murdered teen Chelsea Brooks, will not receive a fair trial unless the case is moved to another venue.

Now, the case will stay in Sedgwick County. It will be heard before District Judge Ben Burgess who also presided over the murder trial of co-conspirator, Ted Burnett.
