Funeral arrangements for Newton soldier

NEWTON, Kansas, August 8, 2008 – Funeral arrangements have been made for Spc. Ronald A. Schmidt who died in Iraq Sunday.

Services will be held at Grace Community Church at 1600 Anderson Rd. Newton, KS on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. A funeral procession to Eureka, KS will begin at noon.

There will also be visitation Tuesday, August 12th at Downing and Lahey Mortuary at 10515 W. Maple in Wichita Kansas from 6 to 8 p.m.

Eighteen-year-old Schmidt died Sunday when his vehicle overturned while he was on patrol.
