Kansas pharmacist charged over Internet sales

By Ryan Newton

TOPEKA, Kansas, August 19, 2008 - Attorney General Steve Six has charged a central Kansas pharmacist with distributing prescription drugs illegally through the Internet.

Rick Kloxin is the lead pharmacist at Hogan's Pharmacy in Lyons.

He faces one felony count each of commercial bribery, computer crime and conspiracy to commit computer crime.

Six also filed seven misdemeanor counts of violating Kansas pharmacy laws and seven more of violating state laws on the sales of drugs and cosmetics.

The charges were filed Tuesday in Rice County District Court.

Kloxin's attorney didn't return a telephone message.

The state closed the pharmacy in March, linking it in an order to a man's death.
