Firefighters hurt in crash involving rescue squad

WICHITA, Kansas, August 30, 2008-Seven people, including two Sedgwick County firefighters,  were hurt  when a fire department rescue squad was involved in an accident with a car.

It happened in the intersection of Perryton and north Woodlawn in Bel Aire.

The firefighters have been released from the hospital.

According to reports, the rescue squad had its lights and sirens on, when the driver of a Chevy Lumina pulled out in front of the rescue squad.

Two adults and three children were in the Lumina. Their injuries were also not serious.
