WICHITA, Kansas, September 4, 2008 – Wichita’s citywide public smoking ban goes into effect today.

The ban prohibits smoking in all establishments that serve anyone under the age of 18. If a business decides to allow smoking, it must create a separate smoking room or patio.

All businesses are also required to post signage indicating its status whether smoking or not. All Wichtia businesses will have 30 days to comply with the ban. After that they will be fined.
