Teen burned while playing with matches in southeast Wichita

By Anthony Powell

WICHITA, Kansas October 11, 2008-A Wichita boy was transported to Via Christi Saint Francis in serious condition after suffering burns to his body. On Sunday, a hospital employee told KSN the boy had been released.

It happened in the 4300 block of south Hydraulic around 12:30 Saturday morning.

Police believe the boy was burned while playing with alcohol and matches. Police say several juveniles were using alcohol to enhance flames on some matches when the boy caught fire.

Police say they do not believe the kids were drinking.
