DOUGLASS, Kansas - Butler County authorities have released a 911 call reporting the bus that flipped over Thursday.
Here is the excerpt of the call:
Butler County 911: Butler County 911, what is the address of your emergency?
911 Caller: It is 19393 SW Hopkins Switch, we got a school bus that just went off the bridge.
Butler County 911: Repeat the address for verification?
911 Caller: 19393 Southwest Hopkins Switch Road
Butler County 911: Is anyone injured?
911 Caller: I have no idea. We just saw it. We live on the west side of the bridge. My grandkids are on it. I just saw it. They are coming out the windows and sides. I can still see them. My husband is heading down there now.
Butler County 911: I have another dispatcher sending paramedics.
911 Caller: Fast!
Butler County 911: Are you with the patients now?
911 Caller: I'm not down there. My husband is heading right down there. I'm standing on my front porch looking at them.
Butler County 911: Hold on one second.
911 Caller: Hurry, hurry, we have kids on that bus!
Butler County 911: I do have another dispatcher sending paramedics.
911 Caller: Fast!
Butler County 911: Is anyone pinned?
911 Caller: I have no idea sir. I'm standing on my deck. My husband is heading there.
Butler County 911: Was anyone thrown from a vehicle?
911 Caller: I don't know. I can hear kids screaming. The creek is up and we cannot by ourselves get down to it.
Butler County 911: Ok , if anything gets worse call me back.
