Man injured in overnight shooting

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) - Wichita police are investigating an overnight shooting in southeast Wichita that left a 27-year-old man with non-life threatening injuries.

Police said it happened around 2 a.m. in the 2600 block of South Jewett, near Pawnee and George Washington Boulevard. When they arrived, they found the victim with a gunshot wound to the shoulder.

"Through the investigation, it was learned a verbal argument ensued between the male victim and a 30-year-old male suspect," said officer Charley Davidsion.

The victim was shot one time. Police said the suspect left with a 32-year-old woman in a 2002 Cadillac Escalade.

Right now, police are still searching for the suspect.

Police said there was another woman and three boys inside the home at the time the shot was fired. They were not injured.
