ARKANSAS CITY, Kansas -- A babysitter was charged Tuesday with involuntary manslaughter in the death of a 2-year-old Arkansas City boy.
Davin Manly died in October after ingesting a poisonous chemical.
On Tuesday, Jennifer Dawn Bowman, 24, made her first appearance in court and was formally charged.
Police say she was babysitting Manly in October when he ingested rust remover and later died.
The court appointed her an attorney and set her next court date for March 8. Until then, she is out on bond.
Bowman was arrested earlier this month at a drug and alcohol treatment facility in Winfield.
