WICHITA, Kansas -- Wichita police are searching for the people who they say kidnapped a 14-year-old boy yesterday afternoon.

Police say three men in an older, brown Ford Explorer grabbed the teen as he was walking in the 11800 block of E. Central Park. They drove him to a vacant house that was under construction and went inside, leaving the boy in the vehicle. The boy was then able to get out and run away.

"He managed to run to a house in the 17500 block of W 21st St. where he contacted the homeowner there and the homeowner was able to call 911,” said Gordon Bassham with the Wichita Police Department.

Police are still early in their investigation and don’t know if the teen knew his abductors or not.

Anyone with any information should call police.
