WICHITA, Kansas - This week Raj Goyle, a Democratic candidate for the 4th Congressional District seat, unveiled his first TV ad in the race. The move comes after a heated back and forth on the Republican side and is now shedding some light on the Democratic race.

The Republicans have been going at it on the airwaves for weeks. With that, Democratic candidate Raj Goyle is hitting them too, letting voters know the Republican Primary won't necessarily decide the race.

"I think a lot of people are angry at Washington right now, and so am I," Goyle said.

Goyle, a Wichita native, is the best funded candidate on either side of the race - a status he's attributed to knocking on doors and listening to voters.

"We've gotten five dollar checks and ten dollar checks, people at the door step and people of all parties," he said.

He says he plans to win this Congressional seat - the first open seat in Kansas in 50 years -- and he will focus on the needs of Kansans, including returning jobs to the area.

"The first thing I'm going to do is do everything I can to repeal the tax breaks and loopholes that (rewards) companies to ship our American jobs overseas," he said. "It is wrong."

Goyle, however, is not the only candidate seeking the Democratic nomination. Retired Kansas Supreme Court employee Robert Tillman says he was inspired by President Obama's election and decided to take an interest in politics.

"I don't have an agenda for myself," Tillman said. "I'm in it for the people."

Tillman says he plans to support those who are unemployed by insuring unemployment is funded and working to create jobs.

"I'm out here because I believe that I have the ability and the background to help out the little people," he said.

Both Goyle and Tillman guarantee a strong fight from Democrats to regain the Congressional seat.

Voters will decide in the Primary on August 3.

When will you all learn that R and D are just two heads on the same snake. At least for the most part. There are a few that are not bought off and ect. Biggest thing is that we should vote for people who do not/ have not made it a career. It is not a career.

I agree that we have few good options in Kansas as far as politicians go. I share your opinion about the GOP obviously. I just know that if we dont work hard to get back to being a country that things are going to be getting real bad, real soon.

If you read the constitution in its entirety You will see how unbelievably it all very simply does apply to things today as it did when it was written. Things like technology have no bearing on our basic rights. During the years when our constitution was the most important document in this country we were on top. The richest nation, and the most free nation. Now as the constitution keeps getting ignored and our laws are policies are revolving around what is best for the unelected elitist groups like the CFR. Who have come close to collapsing the dollar. And are trying to get us into a another war. Our constitution is written in a way that defies time, Technology, and money.

Actually mountain you are right in that insullts aren't going to chqange my mind and in fact will probably do more to make me vote for him. Actually I am of the opinion that the GOP has done its fair share to ruin this country so that means that neither party is a great bargain. Libertarian isn't an option for me anyway. This pledge to the constitution is kind of a joke. Do you really think that if we went back to the basic constitution we'd be better off? Not me by any stretch. The founders wouldn't have dreamed of the US being what it has grown to be or the technology being what it is. After all the Kentucky rifle was one of the biggest advances at the time. Almost everybody lived in a rual area so it meant that usually you could grow much of what you needed and since the length of life wasn't very long on average and family wsa around to help with the care of them the old age wasn't the problem now. For my part the constitution promise is for those that live in dream land of what was.

You might be right ictdude, he may vote for him. but by explaining a bit why you say we shouldn't vote for him you might change a few minds. You feel like he would support Barry Soetoro's agenda. That is a gerat reason to oppose him. You will get your point across way better by making an educated statement. Like you just did with that one. Not sure why you posts are usually quick blabs of insults. But you can get your point across way better with a post like your last one, than your first one. I agree with you I think he would support Obama's Destruction of our country. I wish we had a candidate who simply pledged to the constitution and pledged to do all they could do to make sure the states maintained their sovereignty. We are heading to a real bad place in this country. Obama wasn't lying when he said he was going to Change things.

Because he is not a good choice to represent Kansas. The Dems have done enough destruction under BHO. We need people to oppose Obama and his destruction of America. Raj would just support him. I know 51, he has your vote. But not this Independent.

You are saying this why? Or is it just because he is a Dem or maybe because of his name? If you want to say NO to someone I'd say we need to be saying NO to ones that have been in Congress for years.
