WICHITA, Kansas – An early morning fire heavily damaged a home Monday.

The fire broke out at the home in the 1000 block of
N. Gow at around 6:30.

When fire crews arrived the garage was fully engulfed and the blaze had moved into the house. Firefighters had to use larger water lines to get the fire under control. No one was hurt, but crews say the home is likely a total loss.

"There was a vehicle parked in the drive way, and it is a total loss also,” said Capt. Brad Boyd with the Wichita Fire Department. “There again the investigators will have to determine how that happened. We don't know if the fire started in the vehicle and moved to the house or how exactly that took place."

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The initial report estimates damages could exceed $100,000.
