WICHITA, Kansas -- Fire crews rushed to Kapaun Mount Carmel High School after a report of flames visible on the school roof.
The fire started just before 5 p.m. Friday. Firefighters were able to put the fire out within an hour.
Workers were on the roof of the school, at 8506 E. Central. Investigators say the workers started some insulation on fire and that also burned some electrical wiring.
Damage is not expected to be extensive.
Extra fire crews were called in to help because of the hot weather, in order to give firefighters more frequent breaks from the heat.
