Fmr. Kansas governor dies

WICHITA, Kansas – A former Kansas governor has passed away.

William Avery served one term in the Statehouse in the 60’s. The Wakefield native also served as a congressman from the 2nd District for 10 years.

Governor Mark Parkinson has directed flags to be flown at half-staff until November 14th in his honor.

Avery was 98 years old.
