Fmr. school board member pleads guilty

DERBY, Kansas – A former Derby School Board member accused of lewd and lascivious behavior pleaded guilty to the charges Tuesday.

John Roberts pleaded guilty in court to five misdemeanor counts of lewd and lascivious behavior. He was sentenced to a 12-month suspended sentence. He will serve five years of probation and must register as a sex offender.

Roberts resigned from the school board in May shortly after he was charged with the crimes.
