WICHITA, Kansas – The same kind of computer magic you see in movies like “Get Smart” has now come to Wesley Medical Center.

The first ever hospital kiosk will now help visitors find their way around and get patient information day or night.

“Well, we wanted to improve our service to visitors and patients who come in to the hospital because we don't have somebody manning our information desk 24/7,” said Sam Serrill, chief operating officer of Wesley Medical Center.

But Wesley also wanted a friendly face to greet people and because the kiosk stands eight feet tall, you look her right in the eye.

"We picked out the candidate who is the hologram, and we thought she looked welcoming like a volunteer who may work here,” said Carol with Guest Services.

The technology comes from a local company, Integrated Media Group.

"IMG is famous for working on feature films like “Iron Man”, “Get Smart”, “Eagle Eye” and “Transformers”, said Jason Opat, CEO of IMG. “We created the graphics in those movies to make you believe there's a real computer interacting with you. But now we've taken that technology and brought it to life."

Wesley will have three of the kiosks placed in the main hospital areas.
