After reaching 101 yesterday in Wichita, even a few clouds would be a welcome relief from the heat. That relief may come in the form of scattered showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. A weak cold front has moved into South-central Kansas this morning, increasing our chances of storms this afternoon. These storms will be the summer-time variety, meaning there is a poor chance of severe weather. Brief heavy downpours may provide some relief from the sweltering 100 degree heat, but will only add to the humid conditions.
