WICHITA, Kansas – When the severe weather hit Sedgwick County Sunday afternoon, it brought a tornado with it near Goddard and Lake Afton.

A home received damage on 263rd St. outside of Goddard. No one there was injured.

The storm toppled the trailer Chad Arms and his wife were camping in.

“We were actually sleeping -- what the heck happened?” Arms said.

The couple only had minor injuries – the worst of it is Chad’s black eye. Luckily, the trailer stayed attached to his truck. They fear if the trailer would have kept on rolling, they could have ended up in the lake.

Also hit hard by the storms was Harvey County. The city of Walton appeared to have suffered the most damage from high winds. Signs and fences were knocked down by the system as it hit the town. It also ripped off guttering and siding from homes in the area.

The storm also knocked out power to the Walton Rural Life Center, so that school will be closed Monday.
