WICHITA, Kansas -- A teenager was seriously injured in a dirt bike accident Tuesday afternoon.
Dispatchers say the teen was riding his bike in the area known as the Big Ditch near 37th Street North and Meridian when he lost control.
The dirt bike flipped and the teenager hit his head on a cement barrier.
The teen was taken to a local hospital for treatment with serious injuries.
Law enforcement officers say it is illegal to ride motorcycles or other equipment in that area.
They are still trying to talk to others who may have witnessed the accident to find out more about what happened.
