WICHITA, KansasCould a major film studio be located right here in Wichita? The answer is yes, according to the man behind the idea.

Jack Hill is a California businessman who has relocated to Wichita because he says negotiations with the city are at such a serious level.

Hill wants to buy Union Station, also known as the Cox Building, along with the building that used to house the Spaghetti Works restaurant, to make a studio.

He also tells KSN he's hopeful that motion pictures would be done there and the studio would mean 1,000 new jobs in the first year alone. Those are all the details he would go into, citing the ongoing negotiations.

Hill is hoping the council will vote on the matter as soon as November 17th.

KSN contacted the city for its take on the story, but did not hear back.
