WASHINGTON D.C., June 3, 2008 – The NCAA Champion Kansas Jayhawks were honored Tuesday morning at the White House.

President Bush posed with the team wearing a Jayhawk hat and holding a jersey at the special ceremony in the Rose Garden.

The Jayhawks are on a tour of the nation’s capital and President Bush congratulated the team on their championship win.

“I want to congratulate this team,” Bush said. “You've brought new glory to one of our nation's most storied basketball programs, and you gave your fans all across America one more reason to chant "rock chalk, Jayhawk!"

Bush joked that those players going on to the pros should remember him other who will soon be out of a job and may be looking for a loan.

The team then toured the Supreme Court and met with the Kansas Congressional delegation.
