By Jessica Oakley

WICHITA, Kansas, July 9, 2008 -- After being drafted lower than expected, then being traded three times in the span of a few hours, Darrell Arthur is now officially a member of the Memphis Grizzlies.

The former University of Kansas forward signed a contract that will pay him slightly more than $800,000 in 2008-09 and $2.6 million over three years, according to the website Hoopsworld.

The Grizzlies also signed No. 3 draft pick O.J. Mayo, who they also acquired in a draft night deal.

Arthur was the 27th overall selection in the draft.  He averaged 12.8 points and 6.3 rebounds as a sophomore at KU.

Arthur and Mayo will play for the Grizzlies summer league team that starts play Friday in Las Vegas.
