WICHITA, Kansas, August 17, 2008 – The nation started following Michael Phelps in 2004, but Kansas was more concerned with one of its own.

Wichita’s Caroline Bruce became a hometown hero by making her first Olympic team at just 18 years old. But she learned making her second is no sure thing.
