Chiefs Make Final 2008 Cuts

Chiefs President Carl Peterson announced on Saturday that the club has made 22 transactions in order to comply with the NFL mandatory roster cutdown to 53 players. NFL teams can designate an eight-man practice squad beginning on Monday, September 1st. The Chiefs currently own a roster exemption for international developmental player LB Aden Durde who will be placed on the practice squad on Monday.

Kansas City placed TE Michael Merritt on the Reserve/Non-Football Injury List (NFI). The Chiefs released T Anthony Alabi, TE Michael Allan, WR Jabari Arthur, CB Rashad Barksdale, K Connor Barth, S Khayyam Burns, DE Johnny Dingle, G Edwin Harrison, WR Sergiori Joachim, LB E.J. Kuale, G Travis Leffew, DT Derek Lokey, FB Chris Manderino, WR Kevin McMahan, LB Steve Octavien, DE Jason Parker, LB LeRue Rumph, WR Bobby Sippio, C Rob Smith, G Tre Stallings and T Will Svitek.
