GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas - - The Wichita Wingnuts started a 16 game road trip Friday night with a 3 to 2 loss to the Grand Prairie AirHogs.
Ryan Khoury lead off the game with a ground rule double and scored on a double play. Abel Nieves singled home C.J. Ziegler with the second run of the inning.
Grand Prairie would rally with a two-run homer off the bat of Bubba Dotson in the sixth to give the AirHogs the 3 to 2 advantage.
Wichita starter Anthony Capra pitched four scoreless innings allowing one earned run in the fifth. Capra recorded seven strikeouts while walking three.
Daniel Bennett was charged with the Wichita loss.
The teams continue the series Saturday night in Grand Prairie.
Wichita returns home following the NBC World Series with a game with Gary on August 13.
