Whether you are high tech or low tech; on the move or at home; looking out for yourself or someone else, KSN has storm warning solutions for you!

This year, KSN has continued its efforts to make Weather Alert Radios available at a specially discounted price. Together with our partners at Dillons, we have sold thousands and thousands of Weather Alert Radios in the last two years. And, KSN recently donated hundreds of the radios to schools and day care facilities across Kansas -- including one for every single school in USD 259, Wichita Public Schools.

At this writing, these radios are still available at some area Dillons -- check the stores nearest you.

And, don't forget the free KSN WeatherWarn service that provides email and text/pager messages with storm warning!

So, which is best for you? Here are some key points that may help you decide:

Dave's Bottom Line
KSN Weather Alert Radio $29.95 at Dillons Receives many weather warnings and National Emergency messages. Weather Alert Radios receive special signals broadcast by the National Weather Service. Warnings are based on entire Counties. You choose the County(ies) you wish to monitor Yes--portable and can be reprogrammed anytime. You can only monitor for any County that receives the same NOAA Weather Alert Radio Signal that you receive. A great solution for families on the go and folks who don't mind learning how to program the radio. You can take it on vacation, and it can run on batteries.
KSN WeatherWarn Free Tornado, Severe Thunderstorm are required. You may choose from a wide selection of other bulletins. Warnings are delivered by the Internet to any email address, text capable mobile phone, or pager. You subscribe for one or more Counties in the KSN viewing area. You can change your subscription to different KSN counties anytime you wish. You can subscribe for any county in the KSN viewing area. It's free--but it does rely on the Internet, which, even in 2006, does occasionally fail! Very flexible--can be changed anytime you like. Text messaging charges can be a problem with some carriers.

I hope that you will agree that KSN has really worked hard to make sure you and your family can stay connected and protected. Remember, whenever any of these services alerts you to dangerous weather conditions, tune in to the KSN WeatherLab and we'll be there with the latest information!.
