A monstrous wedge tornado passed by the town of Dresden, KS on May 22nd and wreaked havoc on farms in its path. In its path was the Bernie Vacura farm where barbed wire fences were yanked out of the ground releasing cows to run where the wind drove them. A century old big barn was decimated in moments. A garage was spun off its foundation and ended up in the trees under a windmill which churned along with damaged blades after the monstrous storm had passed. Heavy cattle feeding equipment was moved 1/2 mile away. Stock tanks were thrown like frisbees, with one left leaning against the front of the chickenhouse and another gone completely. Trees were completely uprooted, yet nearby stacks of fenceposts were left undisturbed, Little stayed unchanged, however, when Mother Nature wrapped her insistent arms around us on that day.
