KSN News Digital Producer / Reporter
Byron joined KSN as a Digital Content Producer and Digital Reporter. Byron is a Wichita North High School alumnus and Wichita State University graduate with a degree in Communications/Electronic Media; minor Social Sciences.
Mr. Love grew up in the small town of Colbert, Oklahoma and moved to Wichita during his early teens. The transition from the quiet country life to a diverse metropolitan area set his already pervasive curiosity ablaze. The city gave the young transplant the opportunities and platforms to explore his interests in D-I-Y and independent music, broadcast, film and videography.
Byron has always leapt at the chance to work on various types of projects, particularly, film and video production sets to gain more knowledge on the importance of every role, and also add to his personal tool-kit. This eagerness lead him to work as a grip and production assistant on Texas film director, Geoff Marslett’s 2013 feature “Love’s Her Gun,” winner of the Louis Black Lone Star Award at the 2013 SXSW Film Festival.
Being comfortable in all roles behind and in front of the camera guided Byron to a stint as a Video Production Artist for PROSPER U’s beauty education series Drivers of Success by the Eric Fisher Academy, and as a Producer/Assistant Director with Cinema 1 Film & FX among other roles with Wichita production companies.
Byron also loves being involved with his community. He can often be found teaming up with Wichita non-profit organizations like Tallgrass Film Association as the Entertainment Coordinator for Tallgrass Film Festival, which combines his love for independent film and music; The HORIZONTES PROJECT a 2017 Knight Cities Challenge winner which is an artist driven community engagement art project which gained national attention in 2019 during the installation of the largest mural in the United States El Sueno (The Dream) in Wichita’s North End, 89.1 KMUW, and many others.
In his spare time, Byron enjoys playing music with his friends, making his mom laugh, in-line skating at local skate parks and urban cityscapes, participating in community events, and the occasional film race or lip-sync battle. He says he looks forward to bringing his vibrant outlook on life, media, and people to KSN’s audience through his work on KSN.com.
