Erika Paige is the Weekend Evening Meteorologist at KSNW-TV, and joined the team in November of 2020.
Before taking any type of meteorology course in college, Erika was grooming her love for weather as a kid growing up in Northern Indiana. It was lake-effect snow that would develop over Lake Michigan that would keep her up through the night guessing whether or not enough snow would fall to give her a snow day to go sledding in the backyard. She grew up loving the different types of weather each season would bring growing to appreciate the beauty and power weather could have.
It was only fitting that a passion for wanting to understand the “why” behind weather would lead her to study meteorology at Valparaiso University. It was during her time there that she was able to experience a lot more lake-effect snow and her first real taste of severe weather tracking which included seeing her first two tornadoes in Illinois. This severe weather experience proved beneficial when an EF-2 tornado tore through part of her viewing area in April 2019. Erika landed her first job in Bryan/College Station, Texas, where her skills forecasting and tracking both severe weather and tropical weather continued to blossom.
Erika is excited to be in the Sunflower State and in four seasons of weather once again. In her downtime, Erika and her soon-to-be husband enjoy exploring Kansas, attending baseball games, and trying all the best local food spots! If you have any food suggestions, or any weather questions, feel free to send them her way at firstname.lastname@example.org!
