KSN News Anchor
Gwyn Bevel knew from an early age she wanted to be a journalist and she is thrilled to now once again call the Midwest home.
Gwyn is a proud Saluki and when she graduated from Southern Illinois University she was named one of the 25 Most Distinguished Seniors. She worked all four years for WSIU TV while at Southern. She went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Public Affairs Reporting at the University of Illinois at Springfield. While in the state’s capital, Gwyn covered the Illinois legislature for WICS TV 20.
Before joining the KSN team, Gwyn worked for KFDX/KJTL in Wichita Falls, Texas for almost 13 years as the evening anchor and Assistant News Director. While there, she enjoyed teaching, coaching and mentoring the next generation of journalists. Gwyn says, as a journalist, you have to be passionate about your work, and more importantly, dedicated to helping others.
Although her specialties include city and state government, Gwyn has taken her career to amazing heights, with a ride in a T-38 jet from Sheppard Air Force Base, and to incredible speeds as a passenger in a factory stock race car. She has also rappelled down the side of a skyscraper to help a nonprofit.
Gwyn is very passionate about helping others and always jumps at the chance to get involved in charity and community work. Her husband Mike, and Boxer Chase, are looking forward to many river walk strolls and exploring all that Kansas has to offer. Her husband, a native Texan, is also excited to see four seasons!
