Lucy is the Weekend Evening Meteorologist and joined the KSN Storm Track 3 team in June of 2022. She comes from Monroe, Louisiana, where she tracked everything from hurricanes to ice storms.
Born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, Lucy grew up seeing all that Kansas weather had to offer. As a child, Lucy was terrified of thunder and tornadoes. Once she began visiting the local library and discovering books about clouds, her fear turned into fascination and wonder. Fun fact: Lucy won a contest when she was six for being able to name all the clouds in the sky. The prize was having the local TV station meteorologist come and do the weather forecast from her backyard! Lucy is now looking forward to sharing her knowledge and passion to help keep her community safe and informed during severe weather.
Lucy graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in Atmospheric Science and a minor in Spanish in 2020. She was actively involved in her sorority, Sigma Kappa, and her honors fraternity, Phi Sigma Pi. Lucy also worked as a weekend weather forecaster at the local NBC affiliate. During her time in Monroe, Lucy was an active volunteer with the Walk to End Alzheimer’s and the United Way of Northeast Louisiana. Lucy is also a sustainability advocate and is trying to reduce her carbon footprint one veggie burger at a time.
When not at work, Lucy enjoys hiking, kayaking, biking, camping, reading, and hanging out with her cat, Mongojerry, and her dog, Gertie. If you know of any good trails to explore in the sunflower state, please let Lucy know!
