The St. Jude Dream Home got a personal touch on Thursday as patients, families and sponsors signed the floor of the master bedroom.
Nies Homes is in the process of finishing flooring and installing electric in the home, as well as painting the outside when it gets warmer.
For Wichita 8-year-old Ashley Harley, signing the floor is something she looks forward to every year.
When Harley was two, doctors discovered three tumors behind her eye. Her mom says, within a week of discovery, the family was at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and within three days of being in Memphis, Harley underwent surgery to remove her eye and replace it with a prosthetic.
She joined other kids in being the first signatures on the floor.
“I love seeing her happy and it was nice because all those kids in there were completely happy,” Ashley’s mother, Pamela Alquest said.
