It took about two and a half weeks for Kansas to reserve 12,000 tickets to the St. Jude Dream Home in Wichita. At $100 each, the community has helped raise $1.2M for the children of St. Jude, including many local families.
KSN will draw winners on May 15, including the winner of the house and other prizes.
Workers are still putting the final touches on the home. Tile and flooring are being installed, now that the painters have finished their work. Plumbing and lighting fixtures will go next.
KSN spoke to the designer of the Dream Home. This year, she said they went for a more traditional, simple look.
“We were trying to go for more of a neutral look this year. We actually only have one wall paint color which is very unusual for us. Last year, I think we had about eight,” said Lisa Gartner, design coordinator.
