We have tremendous community partners working diligently to share culture and celebrate diversity and community! Mark Arts host Art Together, a free monthly event for families to create and appreciate art. This month Mark Arts is partnering with the WSU Office of Diversity & Inclusion to celebrate and learn about Dia de los Muertos. The day consists of the following events:
9 a.m. | Storytime in the Galleries
Families are invited to join Storytime in the Galleries. Stories connect to monthly themes and are supported by Storytime Village curriculum that enhances reading comprehension and engagement. This opportunity is ideal for families with young children.
9:30 a.m. to noon | Art Projects
Mark Arts staff will provide instruction for families to create giant tissue paper marigolds. Armando Minjarez from the WSU Office of Diversity and Inclusion will be leading a community altar project to help families celebrate their loved ones.
10 a.m. | Dance Performance
Take in an exciting performance by the Danza Juan Diego group, who will perform a traditional Mexican dance.
