Meet my friend Brad Wilson, Owner of Ad Astra Home Solutions. Brad can literally make just about anything you can think of. He has built fences, torn down and rebuilt walls, installed fire pits, built backyard decks and livings spaces, completely renovated homes…the list goes on. When you follow him on Instagram you get a front row seat to the quality work (and hilarious antics) he produces on a daily basis.
Much to my surprise one day while watching his IG stories I saw Brad building a large spider that he was going to use as yard décor to “hopefully scare the kids in the neighborhood.” Naturally I reached out and pleaded with him to come on the show and share his expertise and I was thrilled when he agreed!
Brad walked us through the process which was really pretty easy to do as long as you had the correct tools and materials. The list of materials include: PVC pipe, PVC fittings, spray paint, and the liner/bottom of a hanging plant basket. We started with creating the spine and then added the legs. Next we assembled the legs and joints. Brad shared some ways to make this spider extra spooky. The body of the spider is simply the liner of a hanging basket that Brad spray painted black. Of course we had to spray paint the legs as well and there you have it, some spooky yard décor sure to scare the kids and maybe put a smile on their face as well.
If you create your own spooky yard décor this Halloween send us your photos we would love to see them and share them on our show!
