Teachers are truly amazing people and today I had the chance to speak with one Kansas teacher to see how he is using his time during the Stay at Home Order. Patrick Barney is a teacher at Russell High School in Russell and like the other teachers across the state is currently teaching his students virtually via zoom sessions. Mr. Barney said he does miss seeing his students on a daily basis but appreciates the time he and his colleagues were given by administration to prepare for online education. Over the summers and in his free time, while Patrick stays busy writing and illustrating children’s books. Today we spoke about his latest book: Coronoavirus and Me. He shared with me the message he hopes parents can share with their children of learning what Corornaivrus is and how we can learn to live with it instead of being scared of it. Patrick has many other books and activities for children. Visit www.patrickbareny.com to see his body of work.
