A lot of times we highlight business owners that are so passionate about what they do, and Susan Camp, the owner and artistic director of Dance Camp Studio is a prime example of that! Located in Winfield, Kansas, Susan cares so much about her students and it shows in the segment. We started by quickly touching on the cute and fun way she is teaching them about social distancing when in their class and she really knows how to relate to her students. She then shared how their dance studio started in 1990 and they just celebrated their 30th year! They teach a variety of classes in including tap dancing, foundational dance, ballet, hip-hop, ballroom dancing and so much more! Susan said the staff looks at all of their students as if they were their own family. In normal times, the kids would run up to Susan and her staff in the street and invite them to their birthday party’s. It really is so sweet. Lastly, we talked about their motto at Dance Camp Studio: Life lessons through dance lessons. They feel there is so much more to teach these kids than just dance and they want to teach them life lessons like respect your parents and elders, learn patience and kindness and more. That’s what I love about Susan. She’s teaching her students so much more than dance and I think that’s really admirable.
