On The Sideline: Wind Surge Baseball Mascot Reveal

Good Day Kansas

Professional baseball returns to #Wichita thanks to the Wichita Wind Surge! The community is ready, the staff and organization is ready and the final member of the team was introduced to the community this week to really get the fans excited about the season.

Windy, the Wichita Wind Surge mascot made his debut at Franklin Elementary School and was welcomed by screaming cheering and smiling children! This is a beautiful representation of how I believe the community will welcome the team once the season gets started.

Jared Forma, Senior Vice President and General Manager shared the tough battle getting to opening day has been. There are many critical members of the team who won’t be here on #OpeningDay but Jared shared that doesn’t take away an ounce of the hard work they contributed to this season becoming a reality. Among the important names mentioned, the late Lou Schwechheimer is certainly the most notable. Former Owner will be enjoying the magic of the season from above, I trust with a huge smile on his face.

Head out to Riverfront Stadium to enjoy some local professional baseball this year, visit windsurge.com for tickets and info on events, giveaways and protocols at the ballpark.
