Title Boxing: Boxing Basics

We’re back in the ring with Title Boxing East for today’s Fit and Well segment. Today, Jillian worked with Master Trainer Tyler Stinson on some mit work and to just learn the basics of the workout. Boxing can seem intimidating so we wanted to break down the foundational punches and series of punches to give our viewers the basics and beginning steps to participating in the workout. Tyler started with the feet and stance. It’s important to keep a good distance between your feet and always stay on your toes. Next, we covered the hand position. In a true boxing match you want to protect your face, and in the workout you emulate that same position of your hands. We threw a few basic punches consisting of the jab and cross. Next, we added a kick. Tyler is a great example of the instruction you receive as your progress through the class. I definitely recommend trying a class! It’s a great cardio workout that also relieves stress and keeps your mind fresh as well. The instructors call out punch sequences for you to follow, they certainly keep you on your toes!
