In observation of Veteran’s Day we took our Taking It To The Streets segment to the streets of the Veteran’s Day Parade in downtown Wichita on Sunday November 10th. It was such a fantastic display of gratitude and appreciation for the men and women of our US military. Children, Adults, Families, active military, community members and many Veterans lined the streets of downtown Wichita all with the same goal in mind: sending thanks to those who sacrificed for our country. As the daughter of a 26 year US Navy Veteran this was a special treat for me. I have attended numerous Veteran’s Day parades, ceremonies, etc. however this was the first time I was able to spend this special holiday in my new home, Wichita. I found the Young Marines and learned about the pieces of the infamous Fallen Soldier Statue. These young military hopefuls were so proud to share the meaning behind each piece of the statue and did a wonderful, job presenting the statue to the crowd. What an incredible day paying homage to our Nation’s Heroes!
