Elliott Polakoff

KSN Sports Director

Elliott Polakoff joined the KSN Sports Team in August of 2016, and he’s excited to be able to tell the stories of athletes across Kansas. He comes to KSN from WHBF/KLJB-TV, the CBS/FOX affiliates in the Quad Cities (Iowa/Illinois border for those who’ve never heard of them!)

During his nearly three years in the Quad Cities, Elliott covered NCAA tournament runs, Big 10 football, and high school sports in two states. His story on a paralyzed former Luther College football player won a 2015 Associated Press award for ‘Best Sports Story’. He loves being able to do highlights of all the local teams, but his favorite sports moments are those stories that bring fans and those who might not ordinarily care together.

Elliott is originally from Berkeley, California, and he graduated from the University of Michigan (so please don’t mention Appalachian State). He graduated with a Communications Studies major and Spanish minor before getting his master’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.

In his spare time, Elliott likes to play sports. Or in the case of golf…attempt to play. He also enjoys karaoke, travelling to new places, and looking for great local restaurants to try in the Wichita area. So if you’ve got a recommendation, please let him know!
