For the first time, we’re getting a look at the new Bruce Jenner.

During Diane Sawyer’s interview in late April, Jenner did not show off the new look or discuss how he’d like to be referred to since revealing he was transitioning into a female.

Now, in a Vanity Fair cover article, Jenner says, “Call me Caitlyn.”

The cover photo was taken by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz. Leibovitz shot the first pictures of Caitlyn at her Malibu house.

Prior to the unveiling of Caitlyn, Jenner had said he prefers the pronoun “he,” but Vanity Fair contributing editor Buzz Bissinger, who wrote the accompanying story, refers to “she.”

“I’m not doing this to be interesting. I’m doing this to live,” Jenner is quoted as saying to Vanity Fair.

Jenner gave Vanity Fair access to her life as she grappled with changing from a man to a woman.

“If I was lying on my deathbed and I had kept this secret and never ever did anything about it, I would be lying there saying, ‘You just blew your entire life,’ ” the magazine quotes Jenner as saying during an emotional interview.

The Vanity Fair article hits newsstands on June 9. Vanity Fair also released this behind-the-scenes video of Caitlyn Jenner’s photo shoot below. Caitlyn Jenner also launched her new Twitter account on Monday. As of 1 p.m., it already had nearly 275,000 followers.
