LAWRENCE, Kan. (KSNW) — The Douglas County District Attorney’s Office on Wednesday reported that charges have been dismissed against Kansas forward Carlton Bragg.

Bragg, 20, was arrested Friday, December 9 after a woman claimed he pushed her down a flight of stairs.

During their investigation, Lawrence Police Department detectives became aware of a surveillance video which showed Bragg and the woman engaged in an argument.

The video depicts the woman shoving and slapping Bragg numerous times and placing her hands near his neck on at least two occasions. After being struck by the woman, Bragg shoves her away from him causing her to fall backwards up a set of rising stairs behind her.

In a Wednesday statement, the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office stated that “based upon the additional evidence available to the District Attorney’s Office the charge against Bragg has been dismissed.”

They go on to say that a one-count complaint charging battery has been filed against the woman.

Bragg was suspended indefinitely from the Kansas basketball team while the investigation was ongoing. He sat on the bench, in street clothes, during the Jayhawks win last Saturday against Nebraska.
