2 firefighters sustain injuries battling duplex fire in Bel Aire

BEL AIRE, Kan. (KSNW) — Two firefighters were transported to the hospital with minor injuries they sustained at the fire on Saturday night. They have since been released and are recovering at home.

The fire happened in the 7400 block of E. Summerside Place.

Crews from both Sedgwick County Fire and the Wichita Fire Department responded. When they arrived, there was heavy smoke and flames showing from the back.

No one was inside. However, two animals died in the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
