3 arrested for string of weekend armed robberies

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) - Three suspects have been arrested in connection with a string of armed robberies in Wichita.

Jermaine Baker, 32, of Wichita, Shaiquille Harris, 25, of Wichita, and Brelen Vonfange, 27, of Wichita were all arrested on three counts of aggravated robbery.

The robberies happened Saturday night, starting at approximately 7:45 p.m. at the Kwik Shop at 710 W. 29th St. S. There, a 27-year-old employee said an unknown suspect entered the store, pointed a gun at her and demanded money. The suspect fled on foot and there were no injuries. 

About 30 minutes later officers responded to an armed robbery at the Kwik Shop at 3959 S. Hydraulic. An employee told officers an unknown suspect also came into the business, pointed a gun at her and demanded money. Again, the suspect fled on foot, and no one was injured. 

Approximately 10 minutes later, officers were called to an armed robbery at the Kwik Shop at 3601 E. 47th St. S. Officials say this particular case is being investigated by the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office along with WPD investigators. The sheriff's office will be presenting the case to the United States Attorney's Office. 

Authorities say another robbery at the QuikTrip at 2821 E. 31st. St. S. was reported around 8:35 p.m. An employee there told officers an unknown suspect entered the business, pointed a handgun at him and demanded money. 

The FBI is also investigating the robberies.
