Crime

Wichita police said they arrested a burglar after a homeowner caught him on home security.

It happened Tuesday just after noon. Officers responded to a burglary call in the 3100 block of South St. Clair.

The homeowner observed the burglary to his home from his cell phone. It was via a motion activated camera system. The thief took electronics, tools, and a rifle. Using this camera system, the homeowner was able to provide a suspect and vehicle description.

Officers arrived and found the suspect at Marion and Broadway. Police arrested 61-year-old Dale W. Owens. He was booked into jail for criminal possession of a firearm, burglary, and parole violations.

The stolen items from the home were recovered.
